When Beaverton, Oregon, first contracted with enCodePlus in 2021 to host their Development Code, they had a big request: to build in a complete historical record of the code, from its initial adoption in 1978 up to the present. enCodePlus staff stepped up to the task, starting with the original 1978 version of the Development Code and codifying more than 600 ordinances to bring it up to date. Each of those ordinances is identified in a history table to allow viewers the opportunity to view the ordinance document, the records it amended, and notes about the ordinance’s purpose. In addition, users can view the entire code as it existed at any point from its adoption onward through the Archives menu.
Beaverton staff were impressed with this effort that they decided to host their newly updated Comprehensive Plan in enCodePlus as well. When the Plan was adopted in 2022, enCode and Beaverton staff collaborated to produce an online version of the Plan that matched the city’s vision.
enCodePlus is proud to continue our partnership with Beaverton, providing ongoing efficient and accurate codification services for both the Development Code and the Comprehensive Plan.
