In 2020 Chesterfield Co, VA launched its Planning Department Code Portal which contains Chapter 17, Subdivision Regulations and Chapter 19.1, Zoning Ordinance of the County’s Code of Ordinances. In this portal, you will find Chesterfield’s Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances presented in an interactive, accessible format created to help citizens, developers, and staff navigate these complex documents with ease. The main menu navigation is set up to allow users to quickly jump to a specific chapter or article, search both documents using Boolean search technology, and research the history of the documents using the archives feature.
As Loudoun’s staff prepared for the future, a project site was created to help facilitate the collaborative drafting of their newest endeavor: a new zoning ordinance entitled: ZOMod. Drafting of the ZOMod is currently underway. enCodePlus’ project site allows staff to draft text, propose edits, create comments on selected text and accept or reject proposed edits. There are no versioning issues for staff to contend with as the draft version in the project site is always the most recent, correct one. Since the project site contains a separate public portal, the staff is able to publish drafts for public review and even allow them to make comments through the site.
